A Free Digital Camera?
You may have heard the rumors... and they're true. Retail giant Target is offering a new kind of gift card.
The "Wow!" card - available in denominations from $50 - $1,000 - is a target gift card and a 1.2 MP digital camera. There's not much to the camera, but it's a cute idea.
The camera has 8 MB of on-board memory - but no expansion option - so it holds about 50 low-res images in memory. But it does have a self-timer, and comes with a USB cable, a disk with driver software, an instruction manual and a certificate good for 40 free 4" x 6" prints from Target.
Considering that there's no extra charge for the camera (except $1.95 for shipping if you buy online), it's not a bad deal at all. And it solves the problem of people resenting the lack of thought a gift card usually signifies.
